Exciting news for gaming enthusiasts! MSI is entering the handheld gaming market, challenging big names like ASUS and Lenovo. Their latest creation, the MSI CLAW, was unexpectedly revealed less than a day after MSI teased it on social media.
MSI CLAW Specs
Here’s what we know about the CLAW:
- It’s powered by the Intel Meteor Lake processor, specifically the Core Ultra 7 155H SKU. This is a top-tier processor with 16 cores and 22 threads, which is twice as powerful as what’s in the Ryzen Z1 Extreme.
- Unlike other handhelds, the CLAW uses Intel’s mix of Performance (P) and Efficiency (E) cores. In the past, this combo wasn’t popular because of weaker graphics performance. But the new Intel Core Ultra 100H series seems to have improved on this.
- The CLAW will have 6 P-Cores, 8 E-Cores, and 2 Low-Power (LP) Cores. Its graphics are based on the Arc Alchemist architecture with 8 Xe-Cores, which can go up to 2.25 GHz.
- The processor itself is rated at 28W, with a maximum turbo power of 115W. Early tests suggest that its Arc Xe-LPG graphics could rival AMD’s RDNA3 integrated graphics found in the Ryzen 7040 and 8040 series.
- The handheld will come with up to 32 GB of memory, which is double the amount available in the Legion Go and ROG Ally, without any modifications. MSI might offer different configurations, as not everyone needs that much memory.
As for the rest of the specs like the external GPU, storage capacity and type, display details, connectivity, battery, weight, dimensions, operating system, retail price, and the exact release date, they’re still under wraps.
